"WORKY" (the "Company") values users' personal information and complies with applicable laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act and the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection of the Republic of Korea.
Through this Privacy Policy, the Company informs you of how the personal information you provide is used and what measures are taken to protect it.
If the Company revises this Policy, it will notify you through in-app announcements (or individual notices).
- This Policy takes effect from June 30, 2026.
The Company collects the following personal information for membership registration, service provision, and customer support.
① At sign-up (required): email, password (for email sign-up), name (nickname), mobile phone number, gender, date of birth, country of origin, address
② Social login sign-up: social account identifiers (Kakao, Naver, Apple, etc.), email, name
③ Business (store owner) members: in addition to the above, business information such as store name
④ Information generated or collected during service use: job postings and application history (self-introduction, Korean proficiency, etc.), used-phone listing information, community posts and comments, chat messages and attached images
⑤ Automatically collected items: device information (OS), push notification token (FCM), location information (for displaying regions and indicating workplace/post areas), service usage records
- Collection methods: sign-up and service use through the WORKY app, social login
The Company uses the collected personal information for the following purposes.
- Member identification, provision of membership services, and identity verification
- Provision of job matching services (posting and applying for job openings) and connections between members
- Provision and brokerage of used-phone trading information
- Operation of community (posts and comments) and chat (owner chat and group chat) services
- Provision of location-based services (displaying region/workplace)
- Sending push notifications (messages, announcements, etc.)
- Responding to customer inquiries, delivering notices, preventing fraudulent use, and handling reports
The Company destroys personal information without delay once the purpose of its collection and use has been achieved or the member withdraws. However, if retention is required under applicable laws, the information is kept for the following periods.
- Records on contracts or withdrawal of offers: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
- Records on payment and supply of goods: 5 years (same Act)
- Records on consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years (same Act)
- Records on display and advertising: 6 months (same Act)
- Service usage records (login records, etc.): 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)
In principle, the Company destroys personal information without delay after the purpose of its collection and use has been achieved.
- Destruction procedure: information entered by the member is deleted from the database upon account deletion. (However, information subject to statutory retention under Section 3 above is stored separately and then destroyed.)
- Destruction method: information in electronic file format is deleted using technical methods that make recovery impossible.
In principle, the Company does not provide users' personal information to external parties, except in the following cases.
- When the user has given prior consent
- When required by law, or when requested by an investigative agency in accordance with procedures and methods prescribed by law for investigative purposes
※ Due to the nature of member-connection services such as job matching and used-phone trading, information entered or provided by users during applications, inquiries, and transactions (e.g., name, contact information, application details) may be disclosed to the counterpart member.
The Company entrusts personal information processing tasks as follows for smooth service provision.
- Google LLC (Firebase): member authentication, data storage, image storage, push notifications (FCM), and other cloud infrastructure operations
- Kakao, Naver, Apple: social login (simplified authentication)
- NAVER Cloud: sending mobile phone verification text messages (SMS)
When concluding entrustment contracts, the Company stipulates the matters necessary for the safe management of personal information and supervises the entrusted parties.
Users and their legal representatives may at any time view or edit their own personal information (or that of a child under 14) and may request account deletion (membership withdrawal).
You can view or edit personal information in the app under "Edit Profile," and delete your account under "Delete Account" after identity verification. Alternatively, contact the Privacy Officer in writing, by phone, or by email, and we will act without delay.
Images uploaded while using services such as community, chat, used phones, and job postings are stored on servers (cloud storage). When a user deletes the relevant post/message or requests account deletion, they are deleted without delay unless retention is required by applicable laws.
The Company takes measures such as access permission management, access control, encryption of transmission (HTTPS), and encrypted storage of important information such as passwords to secure the safety of personal information.
